Dress Shoes
As a Type 2 woman--learn about energy profiling here--I am soft and subtle by nature, so I choose not to wear black, stark white, or other pure hues. They don't suit my blended coloring, so blush or taupe and grey have been my standard go-to neutrals these past few years.
These are my absolute favorite shoes that I have found for those occasions that require a bit more than a comfy sandal. They are reasonably priced and have withstood the test of time and wear for me (which is admittedly less than some people as I am a much more casual person and have not proven very hard on my clothing or other belongings--very unlike my husband, which is another subject, entirely).
First up, DREAM PAIRS Women's Moda Low Heel D'Orsay Pointed Toe Pump Shoes from Amazon
I've owned more than one pair of dress heels from this brand, but these Nude Nubuck ones (pictured above, left) are my favorite. They are neutral, but still pretty bright and light. I love them for Summer weddings with easy dresses. It's comfortable but put-together. Add some nice jewelry and a matching clutch and you're good to go! Not too shabby for only $24.99, and there are so many other great colors to chose from--both neutral and bold.
These are adorable (pictured above, right). I love the ruffle detail, and the light grey color makes them perfect for any season or style of dress. I can wear these with a more structured grey blouse and pencil skirt, or with skinny jeans and a graphic tee. They are so versatile and also under $25!
These are, by far, the most comfortable and well-constructed flats I have ever found. I've owned multiple pairs over the last decade and they are the ones I wear the most and wear best. I've owned other flats that fall apart or lose their shape and kill my feet by the end of the day. Not these. I've gone on vacation and taken only these and been alright walking around for days viewing the sites. This is, obviously, different for each individual, and I've never been overly concerned with things like arch support or good tread (the exact opposite of my husband), but these have proven very difficult to upstage. I've found both neutral and bright colors, suede and leather, and I've never spent more than $40 on a pair.I originally purchased my first pair of these flats at an outlet mall when we lived in Atlanta, but have since found them to be just as reasonably priced and available on the J. Crew Factory website, which almost always has great deals and sales going on, on top of their already lower than your typical J. Crew prices.
Other stores in which I've shopped for dress shoes in the past include Rackroom, DSW, and Old Navy. I've found some hits and some misses in those stores, but the shoes I shared above have been my favorites that I've found so far. I do love the Naturalizer brand (I shop their outlet stores), though their prices tend to be a bit higher than my preferred price point.
Hopefully this helps anyone on the hunt for a new pair of dress shoes!
Best,
Emily
